MAKING OF
JERRY PRINGLE

The Beginnings:
Jerry Pringle, was given his first acoustic guitar, by his mother at age 7. He picked up that acoustic guitar and began a life of music with it. His first public appearance was at his childhood church. “Church, was on an old country lot we mowed, we sat up chairs under the trees. Church always started with good ole hymnal songs that my church musical mentor and I played.”
Jerry lost his left eye at age four. At ten, he went blind in his right eye, the result of a retina detachment. Surgery gave him partial vision, at age eleven, which improved to the point of getting his drivers license at age nineteen. His childhood church music was greatly enhanced, when he was enrolled in the Oklahoma School For The Blind at age eleven. Jerry absorbed great musical instruction, and meticulous regiments of practice makes perfect, under the template Darrell McGee had created in the school music program. Jerry was heavily involved in the Jazz Band at O.S.B. playing all over the state of Oklahoma. Jerry played guitar on an album the Jazz Band produced.
Adulthood:
Jerry became a family man at twenty-seven when his son was born. He was married for eleven years before divorcing and filing for custody of his son. He raised his son from nine years old to nineteen when his son moved out. “All of those years, we played guitar, always a new genre on the agenda.”
Current:
When Jerry’s son moved out, Jerry decided it was time to take his music to the next level. He has played in great Tulsa bands like The Brent Giddens Band, a premier band in N.E.
